Let’s be real—comparison sneaks in everywhere. Social media, school, sports, friendships. It’s so easy to look at someone else’s highlight reel and feel like you’re not enough. I’ve done it more times than I can count.

But here’s what’s helped me fight back: gratitude.

When I focus on everything I do have—my unique story, my strengths, the people who love me—it reminds me that I’m not falling behind. I’m growing, just at my own pace.

Gratitude doesn’t mean I ignore my goals or stop dreaming big. It means I stop defining myself by someone else’s success. It helps me stop saying “I wish I had what they have,” and start saying, “I’m thankful for what I’ve been given.”

Jealousy will always try to steal your joy. But gratitude guards your heart. It reminds you that your path has value. Your journey matters.

So the next time comparison creeps in, pause. Breathe. And count your blessings. Then keep walking confidently on your own road.
